e.l.f. Promo: 10 Free Brightening Eye Colors {ENDED}

This post contains affiliate links e.l.f. currently has a promo running through August 23rd (08/23/2010) for ten free Brightening Eye Color quads with any $20 USD purchase. If you’re interested, there’s still to make an order. Gotta love those misleading e.l.f. ads that imply you’re getting forty eyeshadows for free. o(@o@)o

The e.l.f. ad says to add the ten free Brightening Eye Color quads of choice to your cart after you’ve met the $20 USD minimum in other products. Enter code promo removed during checkout.

While I currently own nine quads, I am not a fan of the e.l.f. Essential Brightening Eye Color quads. Some of the shades I could not get to show up on me (the two light shades in Matte Mauve come to mind). The colour payoff and product consistency are completely hit or miss. I also don’t like the packaging. The shadows come in a tiny compact with very little product, even for $1. It looks (and feels) cheap.

e.l.f. Brightening Eye Color in Nouveau Neutrals, Luxe, Drama

I personally think the e.l.f. Essential Duo Eyeshadow are a better value. Or you could try the e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadows (my review here), a product I highly recommend.

But if anyone still wants to try the Brightening Eye Colors, I do have some swatches for you. I currently own Butternut, Pretty n’ Pink, Nouveau Neutrals, Luxe (not pictured; forgotten during the swatching), Drama, Matte Mauve, Brownstone, Nymph Dreams (mislabeled as Natural Nymph; will change before the review is posted), and Day 2 Night. I’ve been meaning to do a full review, but haven’t gotten around to it just yet.

Of the nine I own, I like Brownstone, Butternut and Day 2 Night the most. I think these three have really good colour payoff and powder consistency. Matte Mauve turned out to be a total disappointment, because I couldn’t get a couple of the colours to show up. The rest are so-so.
