Walgreens May 2015 Clearance Haul

Walgreens May 2015 Clearance Haul

This entry was supposed to be posted about a week ago, but various health concerns have delayed its publishing until now.

I stopped by both of my local Walgreens that carry the LE Disney collections to pick up the ORLY Elsa polishes that were newly clearanced. The Marion, IA location had more Elsa polishes in stock than the Cedar Rapids, most likely due to being less discounted at $3.59 (50% off). I didn’t wait for them to reduce further and picked up the shades I didn’t remember seeing at the other CR location: Ice-Solated and Watch Out or Elsa. The one shade I wanted, Frozen, was not available at either store. I swung back to the Cedar Rapids location and picked up the other shades Kristoff He Goes, Warm Hugs and Snow Queen. Unlike last time when they rang up at $0.75, this time they rang up at $3.59 and had to be manually reduced to $1.75 at the register.

I don’t know what’s going on with Walgreens clearance. Most of the clearance items I’ve purchased have rung up at full price. It’s very frustrating.

At the Marion store I also picked up a computer mouse for two bucks (my younger son destroys them), Angry Birds Star Wars playing cards for a dollar, and nail polish glitter for a quarter. They also had the e.l.f. Essential Lip Balm Tints for a quarter. I don’t know why this location consistently has mountains of lip balm tints on clearance. They don’t seem to be big sellers. I almost bought a few for backup purposes, but I really don’t need any more right at the moment.

Right above the Elsa clearance items was an unexpected display for the ORLY Belle collection polishes. Unlike the Frozen collection, the Beauty and the Beast collection only had one set of polishes (Elsa had two, a bold set and a pastel set), and two mini sets of the full sized collection. I don’t plan on picking up anything until clearance time.

For some reason I took two photos for each end of the display, but not a clear photo of the center. My Walgreens do not like people photographing in the store so I had to be quick.

Sadly, there was just a lone Wet n Wild Silver Lake display at the Marion store with one Blush & Glow Trio in Fair Trade—that I already own—and a couple of eyeshadow palettes in California Roll. I don’t think I’m going to be able to track down the Blush & Glow Trio in Sunset Junction at this point.

I caved and picked up two new hair gimmicks that were on sale, the Conair Classic Vintage Roll and the Conair Pompadour Kit (not pictured). I’ll definitely have to post a review because they certainly need them. There are a dearth of reviews for the products, although I did discover that Scunci is part of Conair because both kits were originally produced for Scunci. Same product photos and everything. I’m not too happy with either, but that’s probably mostly due to my slipper, thin blonde hair.
