34668 Girls Just Wanna Have Funds is part of the Wet n Wild Limited Edition Here’s to the Wild Ones! Fall 2015 collection. There are four palettes in the collection, with two being vegan-friendly. Besides this palette, the other vegan-friendly option is 34667 Melrose Face, which looks to be a repackage of last year’s 34497 A Karat in the World, that I already own.

Packaging

The palette is packaged in identical packaging as the regular line ColorIcon 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette. The five pans are located in a glossy black plastic bottom that sports a crystal lid. Two tiny applicators are included.

The Browbone and Crease eyeshadows have long pans while the rest have short ones. I don’t understand why the crease shade, or the highlighter shade, for that matter, has such a long pan. It would make for sense for either/both the Eyelid and Base shades to be the longer pans.

Each shade is stamped with the part of the eye it should be used on, like Browbone or Definer. Of course, you don’t have to use the shades as instructed, or use all of the shades at once (I don’t). I never use any color as a base shade since I use eyeshadow primer.

Formulation

I’m happy to report that the quality is leaps and bounds better than the original ColorIcon 5 Pan Palette that I axed in my review last year.

Most accurate color depiction of the Girls Just Wanna Have Funds palette.

The formulation is much more similar to the ColorIcon Trios (my recommendation is for the vegan Walking on Eggshells). They’re soft and buttery with amazing pigmentation. Not the dry low pigmentation of the original palette.

Shades

There are five shades included in the palette. All have a pronounced shimmer/metallic finish. Two of the five shades are green, with the rest being neutrals.

Brownbone

A lovely pale cream with pronounced gold shift. Works well as a highlighter, as intended, or all over the eyelid.

Base

A very pale, whitish pea green or dull lime. It’s a little warmer than usual. I typically use this shade for my main eyelid color.

Overall, it’s good for the eyelid or as a highlighter.

Eyelid

This lovely shade of green has a slightly neutral tone to it. It’s definitely green, but is not a strong green, due to its black base. It’s also very dark so I don’t use it too often all over my eyelid.

Wear on the eyelid for a smoky look, or use in the crease and outer corner. Also good for lining the eyes.

Crease

A lovely, medium warm chocolate brown with gold shimmer. Wear in the crease or on the eyelid for a smoky look.

Definer

A very dark, cool-toned shade of grey with green undertones. Very pigmented and dark, but also quite pretty.

Good for the outer V and as an eyeliner.

Cons: Shimmery finishes, no matte shades, limited availability

I really like this palette. As a person with a warm skin tone, I’m always jealous of the beautiful jewel tones that those with cool under tones can wear. I’m happy that this palette lets me wear some shade of green.

I wish there were more vegan-friendly options for this collection, but at least a couple of offerings.
