Walgeens Clearance Haul: Disney Villains/Princess Collections + Wet n Wild Halloween 2015
Last weekend I visited Walgreens to check on their latest Disney Villains collection. You may know that e.l.f. no longer appears to be the makeup partner for the Walgreens and Disney collaborations. Instead, they have been replaced by Markwins/Wet n Wild. The result is that most products are no longer vegan-friendly, with the inclusion of carmine, beeswax and lanolin in almost all items. There are, however, some products that are vegan.
Most of the Disney Villains display products were sold out, but I did manage to find a few vegan products. Wet n Wild and ORLY are both cruelty-free brands with vegan options.
Disney Villains Collection
The displays were mostly empty, but I picked up an ORLY nail polish Duo Kit for Ursula in Flotsam and Jetsam. It was on clearance for half off at $5.59. The silver is called Evil Eels and the pale green shimmer is Power Hungry. I wanted Power Hungry to be a solid glitter shade, but it’s more of a shimmer top coat.
Matte Lipsticks
Two of the three Matte Lipsticks were still available and I picked up both. They were on clearance for half off at $1.79. I had already checked them out online at Walgreens so I knew they looked vegan-friendly. I had expected them to be MegaLast Lip Colors, but the ingredients are slightly different. The Evil Queen lipstick is called 34800 Potion and is a bright red. The Ursula lipstick is 34796 Majestic and is a dark, bright pink. Both shades are very, very similar.
I really wanted the Maleficient lipstick, but there weren’t any left. The tubes for the lipsticks are almost the same as the e.l.f. Essential Lipsticks.
Makeup Sets
I also found the Maleficient Vixen’s Kiss Lip Color Set on clearance for not quite half off at $3.19. I was surprised to see the ingredients looked vegan-friendly. The set includes three chubby lip sticks that are a bordeaux, coral and lavender. There are no shade names.
Vixen’s Kiss ingredients:
Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Synthetic Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera Wax, Triethylhexanoin, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Copernicia Cerifera Wax, Paraffin, Synthetic Beeswax, Microcrystalline Wax, Silica, Sorbic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, May Contain (+/-): Blue 1 Lake, Iron Oxides, Mica, Red 6, Red 7 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake
Wet n Wild Halloween 2015 Collection
I found a few Wet n Wild items from the Halloween 2015 collection in the clearance section located way back in the store.
MegaLast Lip Color
This limited edition shade 34787 Blossom Out was part of the Halloween 2015 collection. It looks like a lovely nude color. There was also another shade, Pink Pyramid, but I didn’t pick it up. The lipsticks were on clearance for $1.24 (regularly priced $2.49).
MegaLast Nail Polish
The only polish I found from the Halloween collection was this 34784 Embellish Minted green shade. It personally looks more like a Christmas color to me. I purchased this polish on clearance for half off at $0.99.
ORLY Color Blast Disney Princess Sets
I was surprised to discover a couple of ORLY Disney Princess nail polish sets. I suspected that the sticker price was not accurate and they rung up at half the clearance stickers.
Dare to Dream Ariel Gadgets & Gizmos Mini Kit
This set includes three shades: Dinglehopper (pastel purple creme), Secret Grotto (mint pastel creme), and Magical Voice (neon pink creme). Each polish is 0.18 fl oz / 5.3 ml. This set was on clearance for $2.79 (regularly priced $10.99).
Disney Princess Belle Four Mini Nail Polishes
I almost bought one of the Belle nail polish sets several times, so I was thrilled to pick up this set for $3.79 (regularly priced $14.99). Each polish is 0.18 fl oz / 5.3 ml. The four shades are Be Our Guest (neo pastel peach creme), Belle of the Ball (neon pastel pink creme), Bonjour! (purple pastel creme), and Nose in a Book (aqua blue creme). I didn’t realize until I got home that I already have a full size version of Nose in a Book, so that’s kind of a bummer.
