Pacifica Makeup Bag

A few weeks ago I won a free makeup bag from Pacifica through Instagram. I was exited because I rarely win anything!

The bag I received included the Alight BB Cream, Perfect Lotus Universal Powder in Light, Dreamlift Under Eye Brightener, Natural Eye Pencil in Jet (black), Smolder Eye Lining Gel in Anchor (brown), Devocean Lipstick in Natural Mystic (neutral berry), and Stellar Gaze Mascara in Supernova (black). There was actually quite a lot of products! Far more than I expected.

Of everything included, the only product I already own is the Alight BB Cream. Honestly I’m not really a fan of it, preferring the Pacifica Ulta CC Cream instead. The consistency of the BB cream is thin, there’s no SPF protection, and the tint is a little too dark for me.

I plan to have reviews for everything in the future, but here are some initial thoughts. My fave is the Dreamlift concealer. It has a similar consistency to e.l.f.’s eyeshadow primers and I like that it’s not thick and cakey like many undereye products.

The Devocean lipstick in Natural Mystic is a much darker shade than I would have usually chosen. It looks like this color is the darkest of the Devocean lipsticks. It’s not too dark, and I feel I could wear it most places, but like I said, it’s not a shade I would have chosen.

I like the Perfect Lotus powder, but I’ve noticed that my liquid face products gunk up the powder in the pan. Not sure how to avoid this. I don’t have this problem with most face powders, though it is an issue sometimes.

There were two eyeliners included in the bag. I haven’t tried this Smolder Eye Lining Gel yet, but I love the one I already own (Tahitian Pearl) so it’s good to get a second in a different shade. The Natural Eye Pencil works a lot better than the Gun Metal shade I received in an earlier Petit Vour box. Jet is much easier to apply and I have less tugging during application. The one problem I’ve had is massive bleeding and transfer to my lower lid when I tightlined my upper lid.

I already own Aquarian Gaze and now I can try the original Pacifica mascara Stellar Gaze. I expected a silicone wand like Aquarian Gaze, but this has a huge bristle wand. Works pretty well so far.

A peek inside the makeup bag.

The cosmetics bag is interesting. It’s lined with clear plastic and the bottom is reinforced with cardboard. Not sure how well the cardboard is going to hold up with wear.

All in all I’m pretty happy with everything!
