e.l.f. Spotted @ T.J.Maxx
A few days ago I went to T.J.Maxx hoping to score some butter LONDON polish, thanks to a post on Nouveau Cheap. The polish was a no go (grr), but I did find a ton of e.l.f. products.
The annoying bit was that nearly all of the packaging had been opened and some products were visibly damaged. The prices were usually about the same as what you’d expect to pay at e.l.f., though a couple items were well above asking price, like the e.l.f. Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths retailing for roughly twice the online price.
Most notable were the e.l.f. Studio Makeup Clutch and 100 Piece Marble Eyeshadow palettes. They were everywhere: the cosmetics counter; endcap displays near the front; every freaking display on the way to the checkout counter. It took willpower my husband will never appreciate to keep walking past all those palettes.
I also found some random makeup sets (most likely Target leftovers), e.l.f. Studio Acne Fighting Foundation, the e.l.f. Studio Baked Eyeshadow Palettes in both California and NYC, and lots of random items.
The most interesting part of my T.J.Maxx visit was finding a slew of e.l.f. palettes under the Cynthia Rowley label. Identical products and packaging, just different branding.

I did find a couple of really cheap NYX palettes that looked vegan, though they were all badly damaged.

I, too, have been hunting my local TJ Maxx and Marshalls hoping to find butter LONDON after reading about it on Nouveau Cheap! Yesterday at TJs I got some e.l.f. products and also found a new-to-me cosmetics company called LiSi Cosmetics. Their packaging is very similar to the e.l.f. studio products. They had mineral baked eyeshadows and some foundation. I got one foundation and from swatching it at home it appears to have nice quality and is pale enough for me. The ingredients appear to be vegan. I Googled and found their website: lisicosmetics.com. Many of their products are reminiscent of e.l.f., and they post ingredients lists online, and most products appear to be vegan. I’m tempted to make an order. Have you heard of them?

Hmm. I’ve never heard of LiSi Cosmetics before. I don’t remember seeing them at T.J.Maxx, though that could be because I had e.l.f. blinders on when I was there. They are reminiscent of e.l.f. in aesthetics and ingredients and appear to be mostly vegan. I only noticed a couple of products that had carmine listed in the ingredients lists. I think I’ll look into them more in the near future. That 50% off sale going on right now is tempting, but I overspent during the e.l.f. anniversary and tarte sales. :/
